Manitoba issues 492 invitations in another big December draw

On December 20, Manitoba conducted a draw for its provincial nomination.

This was the second draw for Manitoba this month. The first one was held on December 5.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 492 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates using the EOI system. The candidates were chosen from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream and Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates.

351 candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream received invitations with the lowest score being 576. 106 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with 502 as minimum score.

The remaining 35 letters were issued to candidates from Manitoba’s new International Education Stream.

Out of the Skilled Workers Overseas candidates, an undefined number of invitations were issued to candidates in the federal Express Entry system.

Federal Express Entry

Express Entry consists of the following three categories:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

The Express Entry candidates who received an invitation for MPNP received an extra 600 points in their CRS score. It will increase their probability of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Federal draw. In order to apply, candidates have to fill out the EOI.

What is EOI?

EOI serves as ‘pre-application’. Candidates have to answer questions based on work experience, education, and proficiency in English or French, etc. The candidates are given a score and then ranked based on their score.
