Wait ends! Express Entry Draw #171

Canada has once again started to issue invitations to Federal Skilled Worker Program applicants in the first All-Program Express Entry draw since the pandemic restrictions were put in place!

The latest invitation for Express Entry Draw took place on Jan-06, 2021, which was the 171th Express Entry Draw. The draw offered 250 ITA to those with a cut-off score of 813 only for the PNP. This draw was specifically towards candidates who qualify for candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, (Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program were eligible for this round of invitations).

Canada’s New Immigration Levels Plan to welcome over 4 lakh immigrants per year for upcoming years. Want to find out how you can join them? Let’s take a closer look at how the process works.

What is the Express Entry?

The program was launched in January 2015 to help people apply for Canadian permanent residence, under three categories:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP);
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP); and
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
a portion of the Provincial Nominee Programs

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for highly-skilled foreign workers, usually with university degrees, diplomas, or certificates, with at least one year of experience (outside Canada) and work in professions such as management, medical, or tech jobs.

Skilled Trades Program is for qualified trades workers and journeymen under one of the following-

  1.                            industrial, electrical and construction trades; ex: Carpenter
  2.                            maintenance and equipment operation trades
  3.                            supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture, and related production
  4.                            processing, manufacturing and utility supervisors and central control operators
  5.                            chefs and cooks
  6.                             butchers and bakers

The Canada Experience Class, on the other hand, is for highly-skilled foreign workers with previous Canadian work experience.

Provincial Nominee Programs is something else but there is some part of it called for the express entry class. Ex: SINP
