Earlier this year, the Government of Canada had announced that it will accept 10,000 applications for processing under its Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program.
Now the number has been increased to 17,000!

Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Immigration Minister, issued this news last Thursday.

Last week, the IRCC had announced that it will continue inviting potential sponsors, who had applied between January 2 and February 1, 2018, to apply for sponsorship.

The purpose behind this update was to meet the immigration goals of Canada or reuniting families in Canada.

There are certain criteria that an applicant has to meet before they can apply to be a sponsor.
